The collection opens with a numismatic medal presenting the greatest pride of Polish classical music and Polish nation – FREDERIC CHOPIN. Other composers are: WOLFGANG AMADEUS MOZART, MAURICE RAVEL, ANTONIO VIVALDI, JOHANN SEBASTIAN BACH, PYOTR TCHAIKOVSKY AND LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN.
The obverse of each medal in the “Great Composers” collection has an inscription “Great Composers” coming out of a stylised roll of notes. Below: vaulting of the cathedral organ /Bach/; stylization of a string instrument /violin, viola, cello or double bass/. Below: shape of a piano seen at an angle. The character of letters corresponds to the theme: it is fluent and virtuoso-like. The most important element, which is at the same time the base and introduction to the composition, are composer’s and conductor’s hands, with notation in the background. The baton held in the left hand is one of the diagonals of the composition lines.
